Happy Thanksgiving - Out of Media Influence

Master's Voice: (second post starting with Master's Voice. Blame it on Thanksgiving... just gratitude!)

Start the day with love,
Fill the day with love,
End the day with love,
That is sure way to bliss/God/self-realization....

But...

'Start the day with media
Fill the day with media
End the day with media...
That is the surest way to devil/hell...

Media includes, TV, Facebook, Twitter, Fourth Estate, et al. Our individual level of addiction differs from person to person.

So what is your media-addiction? Media-type & depth?!

Today, I knocked off all my 'following' which were media-related on twitter & FB (management/wellness being exempt). 25 % knocked off from both my twitter accounts. Much more in FB. Media houses, reporters/editors, etc., are no longer going to get my attention! They were only giving negativity or hyped 'news', consistently...

If the newspaper boy does not deliver your newspapers early morning, don't complain. Be grateful... Newspaper/news on TV or internet or FM is surely not the best way to start a day. FM is just negative energy.

Is it worth it ?

Often we know what is good and what is not. But we just don't take the necessary step.

Would like to hear comments... Have a blissful week-end!

PS:
Twitter users tend to have shorter relationships than those who don’t tweet.

Happy Thanksgiving

Master's Words: Sharing this beautiful thought, which kind of hit me with blissful awareness...
---------
"Often we aware that there is something behind and beyond all the fleeting fantasy; something that persists through all the successes and defeats, the tears and smiles, the mirth and moan - but we are unable to grasp it and realize that it is the same Entity that underlies the entire Universe.

We are indeed one with the most distant star and the least little blade of grass – we shine as dew on the petal of the rose, we are part and parcel of all this manifestation!

The scriptures teach us this truth through many a parable, and even directly through the experience of saints and mystics.

Through meditation and practice of spiritual discipline, we can be aware of yourselves as all this."
----------

- we may say we don't feel or are not aware. Very often we are caught up with hundred other things that we miss out this single stuff that is most important, to be aware! Is that not being mindful?

- if we are not yet able to feel it, it can be done by meditation & spiritual discipline, says the Master.

- to meditate with discipline, same time/same /every day, is a discipline I often struggle to stick to, in spite of the 'intent' !

- spiritual discipline, are synomymous too. Being spiritual, is disciplined within, without external stimulus. When we are disciplined holistically, that is living spiritual!

Not playing with words. But delighted to think and be aware spirituality is so easy & simple. For it is all based on love, which is ultimate spirituality!!

happy thanksgiving!

PS: Hope you noticed the subtle difference in the font-type, for quote and my comment:)

Sachin Tendulkar's 3rd Innings - The Coach's Perspective

One of the biggest discussion around Sachin is about the timing of his retirement. Many 'experts' feel, he should have quit immediately after India's world cup win. Thankfully, he opted the timing that he felt was appropriate. From a Coaching perspective, that is surely the best thing to do.

That does not prevent others to continue with the discussion on the timing...
But what would be a bit more useful? If we are able to interospect and see if we have a tendency to 'hang on', instead of 'hand over'.
Also, to institutionalise all leadership roles, across all areas from corporate, art, science, sports, and surely politics... to quit after a specific tenor.

CEO's (& future CEO's): Step out on a high... 'Let it be'! It will be part of legacy, a best-practice & spirutually uplifiting. For it is the ultimate test to 'give up' at your peak. Detachment at its best.... Isn't that most spiritual. #3rd innings

Of course, start with myself... 'BE... then TALK' :)

Just remembered about #ThankYouSachin & googled. The result was "#ThankYouSachin: 3 million tweets, digigraph viewed 4 million times", on ToI.

I had not jumped onto this bandwagon to post my thought at the peak of all the hype. Wife even enquired, 'how come no comment (on social media)', as she knew me as one of those crazy, Sachin fans. And, my tendency to jump on to social media on anything that I feel strongly.  Of course, that is a disclosure,  being a big fan of SRT. But then, who is not ?!

And I tweeted:

"Big thanks to you Sachin... God Bless you in your next innings...@BCCI #ThankYouSachin"

Thereafter I am posting this on blog. In fact I have labels, Sachin Tendulkar already. But my interest has been in lot of other things, such as 3rd Innings (a label too) and India's youth & cricket/Sachin fan, etc.

More on that & of course, Sachin, pls stand by!

PS: I always want to keep my posts just positive. Hence not writing about the big PR effort by BCCI to cover up all their incompetency, inefficiency & lack of basic ethics & values.

Seth's Blog: Every presentation worth doing has just one purpose

"No change, no point. A presentation that doesn't seek to make change is a waste of time and energy. "

Have always been confident about making PPT's. Now this will surely haunt me in future :)

Very powerful indeed.

Executive Coaching Expert Alan Weinstein: Three Biggest Executive Problems that Require Coaching

Executive coaching tries to address and remedy the gaps in traditional executive development, according to executive coaching expert Alan Weinstein.

He lists out three important gaps that needs to be explored by an executive coach as part of coaching intervention:
  1. Control
  2. Delegation
  3. Communication
-->
Control is one of the key problems with us. Our inability to 'let go...' Ability to let go can be a big relief and freedom. It is linked to our delegation skills. Yes, it is not easy for many to delegate. Some of the best managers are excellent at delegation. Some of the worst managers pull along by just good delegation, backed up with smart communication, of course.

Communication is necessary for one and all. Esp when you go up the corporate ladder. Communication is one leadership skill that can actually set you apart.

No short cuts to learn these important skills, but surely worth the effort. More than mere professional success, these will help in holistic living.. which is the goal of executive coaching.

Power Men Of Yoga - HuffPost Live

My previous post was a share of how a life coach includes fitness into her coaching practice. I shared because fitness is integral to a coaching-intervention.

Coaching has been on my bucket list, for over 20 years. The reasons include, I did not 'get time' ( such a ridiculous excuse, I confess) to I did not get the yoga-guru.

Learning classical music was on my list. A good teacher ( God bless him) manifested couple of years back. I learnt Indian classical music for two years. Now off my bucket-list.

After getting back to India last year, and resuming my search, I have finally joined a yoga studio. I have been quite regular for over a month. Have connected with the 'regimen'.

Why it is part of my bucket-list ? First and foremost, spiritual reason. Second, it will help me maintain higher levels of physical & mental fitness. It will help me to maintain higher levels of energy levels. In terms of practicing Yoga, I must add, 'long way to go....'

As mentioned in my previous post, just as fitness and meditation need to be part of our daily lives, Yoga is something we should be incorporate into our lives. It is part of living, holistically.
